The 14th Hudson River Greenland Festival and the 31st Annual Delmarva Paddler Retreat will be virtual this year!
Save the Date: October 17, 2020
We are excited to announce that Hudson River Greenland Festival and Delmarva Paddler’s Retreat will be hosting a virtual auction/event Saturday, October 17th via Zoom! Soft opening at 6:30 PM, auction will begin at 7:00 PM.
Register online for the event at
for $10 plus their handling fee of $2.24. Everyone who wants to participate will need to log in via Zoom on their desktop computers or laptops. Phones and tablets won’t have the capacity for an enjoyable experience. Live Auction Bidding will be through the chat function (which would be difficult if you use a cell phone, so computers only please).
The Silent Auction will be through Bid-Beacon. Dave Murphy and Shannon are adding items daily. The plan is to open up the silent auction several days ahead of time. But you can use the Bid-Beacon link to take a peak.
As with all those HRGF & Delmarva Saturday nights of merriment, we are looking for auction items - BUT this time we would like small, easily shippable items or “experiential” items like Mike & Cindy Hamilton’s donation of a 3-night stay on Chincoteague Island, VA. with a 1 day open water session with Jeff Atkins. Jeff's been to Delmarva several times and was going to be joining us in 2020 as an instructor. He's good.
Auction item contributors will cover the cost of shipping - USPS has boxes of various sizes that have fixed rates as long as the item fits (see attached photo). Again, small items are encouraged for simplicity. Note: if international shipping is required, the cost will be split with the winner.
Items should be submitted with a photograph and/or a short little film. All items need to be submitted by September 27th to email@example.com.
Like with the auctions many of us have attended, we will have a combination of silent and live auction items. The auction team will decide which items will be used in the live auction.
Soft opening will be at 6:00 PM with short films combined with photos and movies of items. At 6:50 the moderator will do a short presentation on how the event will be run.
Proceeds from the auction will be split between Delmarva & HRGF. HRGF will donate a portion to the Native American Rights Fund. Delmarva will donate to the Camp Arrowhead Dining Hall Fund.
We hope that this event will provide an opportunity for many to attend, as no one will have to travel from such places as the West Coast, Greenland, Japan, Norway, Denmark, the Channel Islands, etc.
Unkel Dave will be the auctioneer. His shirt is not for sale! Or is it?
We very much look forward to seeing you all!
